TODAY’S TRDAEMARK – DISNEYLAND
Disneyland is an amusement park in Anaheim, California, featuring characters, rides and shows based on the creation of Walt Disney and the Disney Company. Disneyland is the only Disney theme-based amusement park designed and built under the supervision of Walt Disney.
Disneyland is the first of the two theme parks opened on July 17, 1955. Its official name was changed to Disneyland Park to distinguish it from the expanding compound in the 1990’s. Since its opening, Disneyland has undergone several expansions and major renovations, including addition of New Orleans Square (1966), Bear Country (1972), Mickey’s Toontown (1993), Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (2019). Disney California Adventure Park opened in 2001, was built on Disneyland’s original parking lot.
The United States Federal Aviation Administration has declared a zone of “prohibited airspace” around both the Disneyland and also around the surrounding areas centred at Sleeping Beauty Castle. This restricts the flying of aircraft including recreational and commercial drones in the permitted zone. This level is only shared with Walt Disney World and critical infrastructure in the United States.
The trademark of “Disneyland” was registered in USPTO bearing registration number 0857667 on September 24, 1968.
