Ralph Lauren is an American Fashion Designer, philanthropist, billionaire businessman, well known for the Ralph Lauren Corporation. Ralph Lauren Corporation is a global multibillion-dollar enterprise associated with numerous lines of products such as clothing, marketing and distribution in apparels, accessories, fragrances etc. Its products range from the mid-range to the luxury segments.
He started The Ralph Lauren Corporation in 1967 with designing and marketing his unique line of ties under the brand name of “Polo”. His creations were characterized as the moneyed style that recalled the look of English aristocracy. Lauren’s first menswear line was featured in 1968 with classic tweed suits and his first womenswear line was featured in 1971 exploring the classic tailoring and good taste with feminine twist. In 1972, Lauren introduced the mesh sport shirt with his trademark emblem of the polo player, which soon became his signature piece.
