The company was founded in Switzerland in the year 1884. Julius Maggi took over his father’s mill in the year 1884 and founded this company. His main aim was to improve the food intake of the families of the working class and with this aim he pioneered the industrial food production. Maggi was the first to introduce protein-rich legume flours. After the protein rich legume flours, it introduced legume soap in the year 1886. The broth concentrates was introduced by Julius Maggi first in capsule form and then he went ahead with the cube form. In 1897, in Singen, Germany, Julius Maggi founded Maggi GmbH. In 1947, after several changes in ownership and corporate structure, the Maggi holding merged with the Nestlé company to form NestléAlimentana S., now known as Nestlé S from its French-speaking branch.
The trademark of this company was registered in USPTO bearing registration number 1166673 on August 25, 1981.
