TODAY’S TRADEMARK – THE DRUNKEN GOAT
Cheese is a widely loved dairy product which is used in a variety of dishes. The Drunken goat a brand owned by Forever Cheese, Inc comes from the town of Murcia in south eastern Spain. The cheese is made from the pasteurized milk of local Murciana goats. The cheese is a flavoured, semi-soft kind and the rind of the cheese takes a distinctive violet hue as it is soaked in red wine. The packaging of the cheese is made in a playful manner with a shawl clad goat sitting on a basket of grapes and drinking wine off a jar.
Violet colour is dominant in the mark with golden wordings. Unlike the name or the picture the goats are not fed any kind of intoxicants, rather the name is a figurative one referring to the manner in which the cheese is aged for a short period of time before being immersed in Doble Pasta wine. The mark was registered on 20-10-1998 with the number 2198671, the first commercial use for it is claimed to be in 1996. The mark is registered for class 29 which deals with meat, fish, poultry, milk, milk products etc.
