The company focuses on the golf equipment market, and produces high quality golf clubs, balls, and clothing. TaylorMade Golf is currently a subsidiary of KPS Capital Partners after it was acquired from Adidas in October 2017.
TaylorMade’s early success came with the invention of metal drivers, which debuted in the year 1979 and have since then heavily dominated the golf market. TaylorMade have maintained endorsement deals with many professional golfers, including world number one players like Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Dustin Johnson. Most contracted players have the majority, if not all, of their playing equipment supplied by the company. A few are only contracted for one item, such as Rickie Fowler whose deal only extends to golf balls.
