It is an educational technology business which provides learners with a mobile app. With the aid of artificial intelligence (AI), the app uses instructional materials including videos, definitions, Q&As, links, and more to assist students with their homework.
In New York City, the United States, Chris Pedregal and Shreyans Bhansali introduced Socratic as an online product for the first time in 2013.
Google purchased Socratic in March 2018 for an unknown amount. When the company’s founder and CTO, Shreyans Bhansali, revealed that it had joined Google in August 2019, the transaction was made public.
Moreover, Socratic stopped accepting user contributions in August 2018; prior contributions were maintained, but asking, responding to, or editing questions was no longer an option.
