TODAY’S TRADEMARK – RADISSON
Radisson Hotel Group is a Chinese multi-national hospitality company. The current Radisson Collection Royal Hotel opened as SAS Hotels in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1960. In 1962, the group changed to Carlson and acquired Minneapolis Radisson Hotels. In 1994, SAS International Hotels signed a franchise agreement with Carlson Hotels to manage the Radisson Brand in EMEA, which later became Radisson Blu.
Later in 2012, Carlson increased its ownership in The Rezidor Hotel Group to 51% and the two joined forces went to market as Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. They announced a new brand in the upscale lifestyle select segment “Radisson RED”. In 2016, HNA Tourism Group acquired Carlson Hotels, Inc, with this the Rezidor Hotel Group entered the economy segment with a 49% stake in prizeotel.
In 2018, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group became the Radisson Hotel Group, a new global brand architecture and launched the Radisson Collection brand. With a consortium led by Jin Jang International Holdings Co. Ltd., in 2019, completed the acquisition of the shares in Radisson Hospitality AB. Radisson Hotel Group also entered into digital hospitality with the launch of its new multi-brand platform “RadissonHotels.com”.
The trademark of “Radisson” was registered in USPTO bearing registration number 0920862 on September 21, 1971.
