The founder of Pepperidge Farm, Margaret Rudkin was one of the great business leaders of her time. In 1929 during the time of the Great depression and the stock market crash Margaret and her husband had to deal with their son’s severe allergies a condition which made him unable to eat commercially processed food. Margaret made him all natural stone- ground whole wheat bread with vitamins and minerals intact.
In 1947 the company’s first modern bakery opened in Norwalk, Connecticut. In the 1970’s more plants were built across the country to meet the growing demand. Pepperidge Farm, achieved over $1 billion sales in 2001 and is among the top 2% of global brands in terms of brand equity. Despite evolving since its inception, the company’s unwavering dedication to quality remains constant, originating from its entrepreneurial roots and persisting throughout its history.
The mark was registered on 17-10-2000 with the registration number 0961556. It is registered under class 30 of International classification and deals with baked goods like Cookies, crackers, bread, rolls, muffins etc. The logo depicts the image of a farm with banner above it stating the name of the brand.
