On March 28, Paul Carl Beiersdorf founded the business. The company was formed on the date specified in the patent document for the production of medical plasters.

Nivea is a German personal care company with a focus on skin and body care. The Hamburg-based business Beiersdorf Global AG is the owner of it. Paul Carl Beiersdorf established the business on March 28, 1882. It was sold to Oscar Troplowitz in 1890. A new skin care cream was created by Troplowitz in collaboration with Dr. Paul Gerson Unna, a colleague of Beiersdorf, and German scientist Isaac Lifschütz.
