Littlemill Distillery, established in 1772 in Bowling, West Dunbartonshire, Scotland, is recognized as Scotland’s oldest licensed distillery. Over its extensive history, it produced a variety of whiskies, including its signature light Lowland malt, as well as the experimental Dumbuck (heavily peated) and Dunglass (full-bodied) expressions. The distillery ceased operations in 1994 and was largely dismantled in 1997, with a fire in 2004 marking its final closure. Today, the Loch Lomond Group, which owns the remaining casks, releases limited-edition bottlings, allowing whisky enthusiasts to experience the legacy of this historic distillery.
