The brand is registered under International Class 028, including goods which are car toy model vehicles and related accessories sold as units, namely, toy model vehicle kits. The brand is owned by JAGUAR CARS LIMITED CORPORATION, which is one of the UK’s prominent companies. The company’s name was changed from S. S. Cars to Jaguar Cars in 1945. A merger with the British Motor Corporation followed in 1966, the resulting enlarged company now being renamed as British Motor Holdings (BMH), which in 1968 merged with Leyland Motor Corporation and became British Leyland, itself to be nationalized in 1975. It is the luxury automotive brand of the British multinational car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover, having its headquarters in Whitley, Coventry, England. Before its operations were fully combined with those of Land Rover to form Jaguar Land Rover on 1 January 2013, Jaguar Cars was the organization in charge of producing Jaguar vehicles.

The Swallow Sidecar Company, the predecessor to Jaguar, was established in 1922 and first produced motorcycle sidecars before creating bodies for passenger cars. Under the control of S. S. Cars Limited, the company expanded to include full automobiles produced in collaboration with Standard Motor Co, many of which had the Jaguar model name.
