TODAY’S TRADEMARK – HARTWELL CORPORATION
Designing and producing aeroplane latches and latching systems is the expertise of Hartwell Corporation. They can be classified as flight-critical, working under high loads/stress in harsh conditions, and their products are usually designed and produced for aircraft nacelles and airframes.
The Hartwell Aviation Supply Company (HASCO) was established in 1939 by Sheldon and Clark Hartwell as a distributor for Littlefuse, Bussman Fuses, American Chain & Cable, and American Screw Co.
As a leader in the design, development, and production of latches and latching systems for the aerospace sector, Hartwell Corporation has expanded throughout the world.
To aid in the war effort, Hartwell Manufacturing, based in Los Angeles, California, was established to provide aircraft cable terminals.
A second production plant was constructed in 1968 in Rancho Cucamonga, California, as a result of Hartwell’s expanding business. When the Los Angeles location could no longer handle the ever expanding needs in 1974, the headquarters were relocated to Placentia, California.
