TODAY’S TRADEMARK – GUNS N’ ROSES
Guns N’ Roses is an American band that invigorated in the late 1980s heavy metal music with its raw energy. The principal members were Axl Roe (original name William Bailey), Slash (original name Saul Hudson), Duff McKagan (original name Michael Mckagan, Izzy Stradlin (original name Jeff Isbell), Steve Adler. Matt Sorum, Dizzy Reed (original name Darren Reed) and Gilby Clarke.
Guns N’ Roses was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1985 by Stradlin and Rose. In the initial years, the band’s hedonism and rebelliousness drew comparisons to the early “Rolling Stones” and earned them the nickname of “most dangerous band in the world”. Guns N’ Roses have sold more than 100 million records all over the world, including in the 45 million in the United States, making them one of “best-selling acts” in the history.
Despite the departures of Adler, Slash and Stradlin and the absence of the new product, Rose carried on with the band into the 20th century. The new Guns N’ Roses played a handful of live shows with Rose leading a lineup that included former members of Primus and Nine Inch Nails.
The trademark of “Guns N’ Roses” was registered in USPTO bearing registration number 1762599 on April 6, 1993.
