Operated by the Georgia Lottery Corporation (GLC), the lottery directs its proceeds toward specific educational programs, including tuition grants and scholarships for undergraduate students attending eligible Georgia colleges, universities, and technical colleges, as well as the Georgia Prekindergarten Program for all 4-year-olds.
In the past, funds were also allocated to capital outlay projects, such as technological upgrades for educational institutions across the state. The GLC operates eight district offices located in Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Dalton, Duluth, Macon, Savannah, and Tifton, employing approximately 365 individuals statewide. Lottery tickets are available at around 8,400 authorized retail locations throughout Georgia.
