TODAY’S TRADEMARK – DUNKIN’ DONUTS
Dunkin’ Donuts, formally known as Dunkin’ Donuts LLC is an American multinational coffee and doughnut company, and also a quick service restaurant. Dunkin’ Donuts was founded in 1950 by William Rosenberg in Quincy, Massachusetts, United States. The chain was later acquired nu Baskin-Robbins’s holding company Allied Domecq in 1990.
The current logo of Dunkin’ Donuts is a variation logo that has been in use since 1980: an all capitals rendering of words “Dunkin’ Donuts”, Dunkin’ in orange and Donuts in pink with a coffee cup outlined in brown with a “DD” monogram.
Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin Robbins eventually became subsidiaries of Dunkin’ brands, until being purchased by Inspire Brands in 2020. The company has more than 12,600 restaurants over 40 countries worldwide, making it one of the largest coffee and donut shop chains in the world. The products of Dunkin’ Donuts include donuts, coffee, bagels and “Munchkins” donut holes.
The trademark of “Dunkin’ Donuts” was registered in USPTO bearing registration number 0748901 on April 30, 1963.
