TODAY’S TRADEMARK – CAMPBELL’S
Campbell’s is the brand name of Campbell Soup Company, an American processed food company. Joseph Campbell, a wholesale fruit and vegetable vendor with Abraham Anderson, a commercial canner and packer formed the firm named Anderson & Campbell in Camden, New Jersey. This became the well-known American processed food brand company- Campbell Soup Company. In 1922, “Soup” was officially adopted as middle name becoming Campbell Soup Company.
Its classic red-and-white can design used by many Campbell’s branded products, soon become an American icon. Campbell’s under its various brands, produces soups, canned meals, baked goods, beverages and snacks. Campbell’s owns several brands that it markets worldwide namely Campbell’s Condensed Soups, Campbell’s Healthy Request, Campbell’s Chunky, Campbell’s Chunky Max, etc. With turnover of $450 million a year of Chunky Soup from 2004 to 2017, Campbell’s sought for a trademark on the term “Chunky” which was approved in 2019.
The trademark “Campbell’s” was registered in USTPO bearing registration number 0698271 on May 24, 1960.
