The Blue Bird Company was founded in the year 1932 at Fort Valley, Georgia. The Blue Bird Corporation is originally known as the Blue Bird Body Company. It is an American bus manufacturer. It has its headquarter in Fort Valley, Georgia. It is popularly recognised for the production of school buses. The company has also manufactured a wide variety of other bus types, including transit buses, motorhomes, and specialty vehicles such as mobile libraries and mobile police command centers. At present, Blue Bird has dedicated its product lineup on school and activity buses and specialty vehicle derivatives. In February 2015, it became a publicly owned company. Blue Bird announced it would begin development of a Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) school bus with the Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology in the year 2017. This development work is being supported by a $4.4 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy, as well as additional support from other entities, bringing together just over $9 million in funds. The trademark of this company was registered in USPTO bearing registration number 1292132 on August 28, 1984.
