The first aeropostale stores were opened in the year 1987 in Thousand Oaks, California and in Short Hills, New Jersey by R H Macy & Co. It is also known as AERO and it is an American shopping mall which targets young adults and primarily deals with casual apparel and accessories. The licence holders of Aéropostale operate Aéropostale and P.S. from locations in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. They maintain their control over their proprietary brands by designing, , sourcing, marketing, and selling all of its own merchandise. In September 2016,the company exited bankruptcy after a bid of $243 million from a consortium of licensing firm Authentic Brands Group, mall operators Simon Property Group and General Growth Properties, and capital-investment firms Gordon Brothers and Hilco Merchant Resources. It had reopened 500 above stores under its new management by January 2017. In the year of 2019 its products returned to Canada through boutiques in Bluenotes stores and a dedicated online shop
