TODAY’S TRADEMARK – FLEISCHMANN’S
The Company AB MAURI FOOD INC. filed for the Trademark ‘FLEISCHMANN’S’ with the USPTO on March 23, 1999 and was assigned registration number 2234716. The mark has been in use since October 1996.
AB Mauri has been producing yeast and baking ingredients for more than 150 years. They began in 1868 when Fleischmann’s yeast was brought to the United States. Over time, they established ties with Australia by introducing Mauri Brothers bakery supplies in 1911 and Burns Philp yeast & bakery ingredients. In 2004, the AB Mauri group was established.
Associated British Foods (ABF) has an operational division called AB Mauri. It was established in 2004 by combining the bakery ingredient businesses that ABF had previously purchased, such as those from Innovative Cereal Systems in Oregon, Burns Philp in Australia, Sohovos in Brazil, and DSM in Europe. AB Mauri inked distribution agreements with wineries in January 2018.
In the US, Fleischman’s Yeast was first introduced in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1868. In 1931, Fleischmann’s goods made their debut in Brazil. And in 1986, Fleischmann’s Yeast division was sold to Burns Philp.
Every nation has a different definition of what constitutes the ideal bread, cake, or other bakery item. Since there aren’t many “standard” bakery products, ingredient technologies are developed to best fulfil the specific needs of different markets and consumers. In addition to satisfying significant local customer requirements, these needs cover functional performance qualities, flavour profiles, processing parameters, and raw material varieties.
