TODAY’S TRADEMARK – LE LIDO
The company filed for trademark LE LIDO with the USPTO on November 20, 1962 and was assigned registration number 741072. Their mark was first used in May 1954.
Situated in Paris, France, on the Champs-Élysées, Le Lido is a musical theatre venue. Established on June 20, 1946, Le Lido was founded by Joseph and Louis Clérico. In the 1920s, a man-made beach operating as a late-night club and casino in a townhouse basement preceded Le Lido. In 1977, it moved to its current location. It was well-known for its exotic cabaret and burlesque acts, which featured dancers, singers, and other artists, until Accor acquired it in 2021.
The Lido was introduced to Stardust Las Vegas by the Clérico brothers and Donn Arden in 1955 following a visit by the Stardust Resort & Casino’s entertainment director. The Folies Bergère to the Tropicana, Nouvelle Eve to the Hotel El Rancho Vegas, and Casino de Paris to the Dunes were the first of several Parisian cabaret shows that were brought to Las Vegas as a result. Le Lido’s Stardust version shut down in 1992.
The renowned Bluebell Girls were among the singers and dancers in every Le Lido performance. Lead vocalists, showgirls, and a few prominent dancers were occasionally added. The Lido was renowned for its extravagant costumes, which included exquisite fabrics, fine furs, and thousands of dollars’ worth of feathers and rhinestones.
