TODAY’S TARDEMARK – METALLICA

Metallica is undoubtedly one of the biggest bands in rock and metal history. It is an American heavy metal band which has been a pioneer in their field, being responsible for bringing thrash metal into mainstream music industry in the 1980’s. Founded in the year 1981 by the rythm guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich.

Metallica has had a legacy in the world and their third album Master of Puppets (1986) had sold more than 3 million copies without much support from the broadcast radio and was also certified gold the year of its release. In the year 1999 they were inducted into the San Francisco Walk of Fame, they was also included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.

They have not only captivated America but have millions of followers all over the world, so much so that a ceremony was held in San Francisco on 16^th December 2021 onwards which the date officially became known as “Metallica Day.”
