“LIFEWAY” is owned by Lifeway Christian Resources, a non-profit organization that helps churches run their businesses and sells Christian books and products. It is a division of the Southern Baptist Convention and is based in Nashville. It is known for its brick-and-mortar LifeWay Christian Stores, which were one of the two biggest Christian book and product stores in the United States. Lifeway publishes the Christian Standard Bible and Christian books and commentaries through B&H Publishing. It also makes Sunday school lessons and Bible studies for other church events.
The company also does research and sells Christian materials that were made by other people. Lifeway pays for itself by selling the things it makes. James Marion Frost started the business in 1891. Since then, it has grown to include items made by other Southern Baptists. In 2019, Lifeway said it would close some of its 170 stores and focus on online sales.
