TODAY’S TRADEMARK – D’NEALIAN

Handwriting expert Donald N. Thurber came up with the D’Nealian Method in the mid-1960s and called it the D’Nealian Method. Learners will find the process of moving from print writing to cursive writing much less challenging as a result of this focus. It is based on the Palmer Method and employs an alphabet that has two sets of letters, one for print writing and one for cursive writing. The first step in Thurber’s method is to instruct students in a print writing form with letters that are similar to one another. The next step is to add “monkey tails” to form the cursive script.
