Essent N.V. is a Dutch energy company headquartered in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. It was created in 1999 by merging PNEM/MEGA Groep and EDON Groep, two energy companies from the south and north of the Netherlands respectively.

Essent is a subsidiary of E.ON and is the largest energy provider in the country. The company offers customers (green) gas, (green) electricity, heat, and energy services. With over 90 years of experience in generating, trading, transmitting, and supplying electricity, Essent serves approximately 2.3 million customers for electricity and 2 million for gas.
