TODAY’S TRADEMARK – REMY MARTIN

The “Remy Martin” mark was registered on 09 January, 2012 by the E. Remy Martin & Co. in the Malaysian trademark office bearing registration number 2012011325.

Cognac is what French company Remy Martin principally makes and sells. It is one of the oldest still-operating makers of cognac, having been established in 1724 and located in the Cognac commune. Along with Hennessy, Courvoisier, and Martell, it is one of the “big four” cognac houses that produces the majority of the world’s cognac. The company specializes in producing Fine Champagne with Cognac.

The founder of the corporation, Remy Martin, was born in 1695 close to Rouillac in southwest France. By profession a vintner, he founded a cognac trading firm in 1724. The company was given to his grandson, also named Remy, upon his death in 1773. Paul-Emile-Remy Martin took over in 1841 and supervised rapid expansion. He gave the bottles and cases a logo.
