The Device mark was registered on 27 December, 1991 by the Microsoft Corporation in the Indian trademark office bearing registration number 564498.
Microsoft Corporation is an America based multinational Technology Corporation, which deals in computer software, consumer electronics, personal computers and other related technologies. It has been one of the most dominant companies that the computer world has witnessed. It was founded 4th of April 1975 by the founders Bill Gates and Paul Allen. Microsoft has been a key player in the technology world and can be attributed for the development in the computers that we see today. The Initial mark which was registered by Microsoft was for the “Microsoft Windows.” The Mark visually illustrated a waving flag with 4 rectangular openings in it. These rectangular openings were for representing the Pane of Windows. The idea behind adopting the Pane of Windows in the mark was to display the idea of the product as per the name “Windows”, which was an operating system for computer in which one could access computer functions by using it. Therefore, it was a well thought logo to get into the mind of people as it implied the logo to be the window to the computer world, where you can do many things.
