Kit Kat is one of the most recognized chocolate brands in the world. Kit Kat is a chocolate-covered wafer bar created by Rowntree’s of York, United Kingdom and is now a product of Nestle which acquired Rowntree’s in 1988. Kit Kat in the United States is made under license by the H.B. Reese Candy Company, a division of the Hershey Company.

Kit Kat’s products are chocolate bars composed of three layers of wafer and covered with an inner and outer layer of chocolate, conventionally called
fingers”. Most of the Kit Kat bars have 1,2, and 4 fingers in them. The typical red and silver colours of Kit Kat’s logo remained unchanged in the past.

The classic tagline of Kit Kat “Have a break, have a Kit Kat” was given by Donald Gillies from an advertising agency in London, first launched in 1958. In the following 50 years, the tagline become a genuine advertising icon and is now a registered property of the brand.
