Gillette is an American brand of safety razors and other personal care products such as shaving supplies, owned by the multi-national corporation Proctor and Gamble (P&G). Gillette is based in Boston, Massachusetts, United States and is owned by the Gillette company that merged into P&G in 2005.
The Gillette company in 1901 by King C. Gillette as a safety razor manufacturer. The Gillette company’s assets were incorporated into P&G unit, internally known as “Global Gillette”. In 2007, Global Gillette was dissolved and incorporated into P&G’s other two main divisions, P&G Beauty and P&G Household Care. Gillette’s brands and products were divided between the two accordingly. Gillette R&D Centre and Gillette South Boston Manufacturing Centre. Gillette’s subsidiaries Braun and Oral-B among others are also owned by P&G.
The trademark of “Gillette” was registered in USPTO bearing registration number 1037776 on April 13, 1976.
