TODAY’S TRADEMARK – AMERICAN ROYAL
The American Royal is a non-profit organization based in Kansas City founded in 1988. The American Royal organizes a livestock show, horse show, rodeo and barbecue competition held each year in September-November at various places in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area.
The American Royal started as cattle show in 1899 as the National Hereford Show, the first nationwide show for the exposition and sale of purebred cattle. Soon, the show outgrew the tent and a permanent structure was built in 1908 by the Kansas City Stockyards, which is the agricultural hub of the Midwest. The two most recent events that were added to the American Royal season are the rodeo and barbecue contest.
For over 100 years, the American Royal has become a part of Kansas City history. It continues as a Kansas City tradition by offering opportunities for scholarships, education and competition to youth and adults from around the country who attend the events and educational programs of the American Royal.
The trademark of “American Royal” was registered in USPTO bearing registration number 0643732 on April 2, 1957.
