The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is also known as “The Greatest Race Course in the World”. It is located in Speedway, Indiana (suburb of Indianapolis) in the United States. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is well known for being the global host of the largest single-day sporting event in the world, the Indianapolis 500, the Verizon 200 and the former home of the United States Grand Prix. It is the largest sports venue in the world.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway was constructed in 1909, becoming the second purpose-built, banked oval racing circuit after Brooklands and the first to be called a “Speedway”. It is the third-oldest permanent automobile race track speedway in the world. It is also the highest-capacity sports venue in the world.

In the Speedway is the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, which opened in 1956 and harbours the Hall of Fame. Also, on the grounds of the Speedway, there is the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course, which was originally opened as the Speedway Golf Course in 1929.

The trademark of “Indianapolis Motor Speedway” was registered in USPTO bearing registration number 0815638 on September 20, 1966.
