Star-Lord aka Peter Jason Quill is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appeared in a non-coloured magazine publication, Marvel Preview. The character of Star-Lord continued to appear in Marvel Preview, with writer Chris Claremont remodelling the character and using other science fiction adventure stories like the Heinlein juveniles for inspiration.
Peter Quill was a half-human born on earth, the son of a human mother and alien father. Quill as a character assumes the mantle of Star-Lord, an interplanetary policeman. The character played prominent roles in numerous comic book narratives such as “Annihilation”, “Annihilation: Conquest”, “War of Kings” and “The Thanos Imperative”. In 2008, he became the leader of the space-based superhero team “Guardians of Galaxy” in the relaunch of the comic. He also has been featured in variety of Marvel merchandise, including the animated television series, movie series, toys and trading cards.
The trademark of “STAR-LORD” was registered in USPTO bearing registration number 1139223 on September 02, 1980.
