Bausch + Lomb is a company providing eye health product services. It is  based in Laval, Quebec, Canada. The company was founded in Rochester, New York, in 1853. Until it was acquired by private equity firm Warburg Pincus in 2007, Bausch + Lomb was a public company listed on the NYSE. The founders are John Bausch who is an optician by profession and cabinet maker turned financial backer Henry Lomb. It is one of the world’s largest suppliers of contact lenses,[2] lens care products, pharmaceuticals, intraocular lenses, and other eye surgery products. Bausch + Lomb was one of the oldest continually operating companies in the United States till 2013.  It was announced in May 2013 that Valeant Pharmaceuticals which is based in Canada would acquire Bausch + Lomb from Warburg Pincus for $8.57 billion in cash. Today, the company employs about 12,000 people in 36 countries The trademark of this company was registered in USPTO bearing registration number 1451674 on August 11, 1987.
