Today’s Trademark – OLD FITZGERALD
It was produced by John E. Fitzgerald in Frankfort, Kentucky in the year 1870 for rail and steamship lines and private clubs which are primarily located in the south. It was released to the public in America and Europe around 1900. Pot still method was used by few distilled and it was one of them. For national medicinal trade it was one of the few to distill under the supervision of government for national medicinal trade. It was acquired by Pappy Van Winkle for $10,000. ‘Whisper of Wheat was introduced by him to the original recipe. Till 1992, Old Fitzgerald was produced at the Stitzel-Weller Distillery. After the distillery was shut down the production was transferred to Bernheim Distillery in Louisville. Currently Old Fitzgerald is being produced and marketed by Heaven Hills.
The trademark of this company was registered in USPTO bearing registration number 1194084 on April 20, 1982.
